The Managers
Shelley Caine
Shelley joined the firm in 1994 and was appointed as a Manager in 1998. She now works closely with Iain Painter, one of the CJ Partners.
Alongside Iain, Shelley is closely involved with Shropshire’s farming community, and she is constantly developing new skills to ensure that she continues to meet the needs of this interesting client base.
Shelley’s inter-personal skills are put to good use in the Shrewsbury office. She is often called upon to organise workloads to ensure that deadlines are met and the CJ client base is handled efficiently. She also helps Iain run the popular Knighton Office - a convenient drop-in facility that provides a face-to-face service for clients in mid-Wales and South Shropshire.
Shelley is married and lives in Bridgnorth where she and her husband are currently landscaping their large garden. Shelley also enjoys swimming and independent foreign travel.
Helen Pierce
Helen is a Chartered Accountant who joined the firm as an Audit Manager in 1998. Her current portfolio encompasses a wide variety of clients, ranging from small audit-exempt companies to large, regulated corporations. She is also responsible for managing the more complex cases, such as pensions, charities and trusts, within the practice.
Helen’s expertise in audit matters has proved invaluable to colleagues at Caerwyn Jones. She has recently compiled and implemented a new Audit Manual which has standardised internal procedures and ensured that the company remains up-to-date with standards set by the Audit Practices Board.
Colleagues also benefit from Helen’s in-house training courses where their own professional development is augmented by Helen’s knowledge of audit procedures and regulations. She is also responsible for supervising the personal and professional development of external students assigned to the company.
Born in Cheshire, Helen now lives with her husband in Shrewsbury where they act as a host family for foreign students. The couple also enjoy long walks with their dog, Jasper.
Christopher Jones
Chris qualified in 1991 and spent many years as a manager for a practice in north Worcestershire. He joined Caerwyn Jones in 2004 and now manages the audit and accounting needs of a wide range of clients from companies to sole traders and partnerships.
In 2006 Chris qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser and this specialist knowledge has helped to further enhance our tax compliance and planning services. He is also often called upon for advice on business plans, financial management and business management.
Chris has an in-depth knowledge of computerised accounts and payroll software, which is helpful to CJ clients who are looking to install new software.
Born in Warwickshire, Chris now lives with his wife in Shrewsbury. He has a keen interest in genealogy and local history and, as a member of Severn Valley Railway, is a frequent visitor to the centre at Bridgnorth.
